Servicing and Caring for my Battery and MotorUpdated 2 years ago
How do I clean my motor and battery?
Use a wet cloth to wipe them down. Diluted detergent and degreaser can be used but should be rinsed off with a wet cloth using only water. Do not use a hose or pressure washer directly on your motor, battery, or electronic components.
Is my ebike kit waterproof? What about rain?
The motor and battery can withstand light rain but not heavy or extended rain. They are not waterproof and should never be submerged in water.
How do I extend the life of my battery?
Li-ion is virtually maintenance-free, and the battery lasts the longest when operating between 30 and 80 percent of a full charge. Unlike other battery chemistries, Lithium-Ion has no memory and can be topped off whenever needed. What servicing does the motor need?
Your electric motor kit does not need regular servicing. If you notice it is behaving differently or making a different sound, something may be worn internally or need grease. Some customers regrease the internal gears in the motor every 2-3,000 miles.
